-
-
- This program is based upon the quiz found in many
- popular quiz books.
-
- The objective of the game is to correctly identify all the
- letters in the grid at the bottom of the screen. Each
- number corresponds to an individual letter.
-
-
- THE SCREEN
-
-
- 1. On the left are the letters A - M and on the right, the
- letters N - Z. These change from blue to grey once that
- letter has been chosen.
-
-
- 2. At the bottom of the screen is a grid with the numbers
- 1 - 26 in. Each box corresponds to a letter.
-
-
- 3. In the middle of the screen is the main grid. Boxes with
- numbers in contain letters. Boxes with no numbers in
- contain no letters!!!
-
-
- INSTRUCTIONS
-
-
- Use the mouse to move the pointer to the bottom grid. Once you
- have decided that a particular letter corresponds to a particular
- number then press SELECT on the box containing that number.
-
- You are then asked to enter a letter. Press A - Z. All boxes
- containing that number will then display the letter pressed.
-
- If you have made a mistake, or wish to replace one letter with
- another, then you are asked whether you wish to replace the old
- letter with the new one.
-
- The game ends when all 26 letters are placed, correctly!, in the
- lower grid.
-
-
- Pressing the middle (Menu) button produces a sort of
- risc-os menu. The menu is stuck in this position.
-
-
- LOAD FILE - This allows a game file to be loaded. Game
- files are included in the package.
-
-
- SAVE FILE - This allows you to save newly defined games.
-
-
- GAME DESIGNER - This has two options:
-
- 1. Alter grid layout: Allows you to alter a particular
- box in the grid.
-
- Position the mouse pointer on the box to alter.
- Press SELECT.
- Enter the new letter that you wish to occupy the box.
-
- To delete a letter, press SPACE BAR instead of a letter.
-
- Repeat this, or press RETURN to return to the game
- instead of pressing a letter.
-
-
- 2. Alter words: This allows you to enter words in the
- grid.
-
- Type the word to be entered (Capitals only please!)
- Position the pointer where you want the word to start.
- Press SELECT.
- Choose your direction: 2 - Down
- 6 - Across
-
-
- With both of these options you are informed whether all 26
- letters have been used. They will also both show ALL letters
- placed in both grids.
-
-
- LOAD GAME - This option allows you to load an incomplete game
-
-
- SAVE GAME - This option allows you to save the game and return
- to it later.
-
- A Pre-determined filename "HalfWay" is used for the
- LOAD and SAVE GAME options.
-
- Note: Only the latest game is kept on the disc.
-
- Exit to Basic option. Obvious enough???
-
- Exit to Desktop option. Even more obvious???
-
- This program isn't multi-tasking as I haven't yet got the
- hang of template files!!! (Anyone out there got any
- suggestions???)
